Arthropod

An arthropod I find interesting is the preying mantis. The preying mantis has the ability to turn it's head 180 degrees which is very unique in insects.  This makes it difficult for predators to sneak up on preying mantises. Also, it lays eggs and protects them by covering them in a foam like substance that hardens. Three common arthropod characteristics that preying mantises have are having compound eyes, bilateral symmetry, and that it's body is divided into segments.
